Welcome to the new home of:
Bob's V45 Magna Page
"Maggie" a 1984 Honda Magna V45.

The Honda V45 & V65 Magnas and Sabres from 82-86 are some of the best scoots ever made. An absolutely smooth torquey V4 machine. The Magnas are the original performance cruiser, capable of 0 to 60mph times of (V45)4.6 seconds (V65) 4.3 seconds.

Maggie is now 17 years old and has rolled on for over 100,000 km or 63,000 miles since this picture was taken in May 94.

The Odometer rolled over to 0.0 kms in November 1999 and we rode another 25,000 km in 2000. She now has a modified seat and carries an aux fuel tank on the back seat which gives her a range of over 400km/250 miles and deer(driving) lites on the front.

We have been on many trips to places including: The Black Hills SD, Yellowstone NP(twice), Banff National Park, Vancouver BC, two trips to Copper Harbor, MI on the South shore of Lake Superior, two SabMag Spring Flings in Volcano, CA, Rocky Mountain National Park, Southern Colorado and many other scenic places over the years.

She has been and is a very dependable motorcycle, even when she had a problem, we managed to make it home with a field repair or work around which may have had to last a couple of thousand miles.

We are planning to ride many more thousands of miles in 2001.

Sept 2001 This has been a wonderful year for travelling. I went to four SabMag Gettogethers in SE Ohio, Minneapolis, the Upper Peninsula in Michigan and Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Total mileage to date this year is over 35k kms or 22k miles. The odometer rolled over 160,000 kms or 100,000 miles on the way back from British Columbia.

September 2002 Another great year for travelling, But Maggie is getting old, she rolled over the odometer to 200,000 kms/124,688 miles in August and now has a dead left front cylinder with only two lbs of compression. She is retiring from long distance travelling for a while and I will be riding a V65 Magna for the next while. She still runs quite nicely even with the low power cylinder. I'll keep a lookout for a new motor for her. Can't bear the thought of parting out a wonderful bike like her. current (Oct 2002) odometer reading is 204,559 kms or 127,107 miles.
